How to Visit the

Taj Mahal

Taj Mahal is not just a monument, but a symbol of love.

– Suman Pokhrel

The best time to visit the Taj Mahal is in the cooler winter months.

When to Visit

I highly recommend visiting at sunrise for a magical morning glow and less crowds

What to Bring

Just bring yourself and a camera! The less stuff you have the better.

What NOT to Bring

On Your Own

If you don't want to book a tour, you can buy a ticket for entrance + mausoleum for 1250 INR. There are also guides you can hire on site. The lines get long very early, so arrive at sunrise to avoid a long wait.

What to wear

There is no official dress code, but I recommend something plain and modest. I wore this indo-western kurta with jeans.

Need to Know

A few more important things to know about your visit:  - Avoid the monkeys!  - Bargain if you want to buy any souvenirs (cut the price in half, at least!) - Taj Mahal is closed on Fridays
